New York, NY — L'Forma is proud to announce the completion of its specialty plaster scope for Sage + Sound, the 5,000-square-foot wellness destination on Manhattan's Upper East Side founded by Lacey Tisch and Lauren Zucker. Working with Shadow Architect, P.C., L'Forma delivered 8,000 square feet of acoustical and Venetian plaster across a space where how a room sounds is as important as how it looks.
Sage + Sound is built around stillness. The Study, the space's programming hub, hosts meditation, breathwork, and sound experiences seven days a week, alongside treatment rooms, a café, and retail — all within a former Duane Reade converted into a calm, unpretentious retreat. That program placed unusual demands on the finishes: surfaces had to absorb sound and control reverberation while remaining visually seamless, warm, and free of the panels and baffles that would break the room's calm.
L'Forma self-performed 8,000 square feet of plaster across the project, combining acoustical plaster where sound performance was critical with Venetian plaster where depth and tactility set the tone. The result is a monolithic, hand-applied surface that quiets the space invisibly — acoustic function delivered as architecture rather than equipment. The full scope was completed on a five-week schedule.
