New York, NY — L'Forma is proud to announce the completion of its specialty plaster scope for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's new Condé M. Nast Galleries — a nearly 12,000-square-foot space at the heart of the Museum dedicated to fashion, unveiled with its inaugural exhibition, Costume Art. Working with architecture firm Peterson Rich Office, L'Forma delivered museum-grade finishes worthy of one of the world's most prestigious cultural institutions.
L'Forma completed 9,500 square feet of specialty plaster across the new galleries, applying Venetian plaster and Marmorino finishes to the exacting standards a museum environment demands. Every surface was hand-troweled to achieve the seamless, refined quality that frames the Museum's collection — a finish that must recede so the art can lead, while contributing its own quiet sense of permanence and craft. Designed by Peterson Rich Office, the Condé M. Nast Galleries mark a new chapter for fashion at The Met, giving the institution a permanent, purpose-built home for costume and design at the center of the building. For L'Forma, contributing the plaster finishes to a space of this significance — alongside a distinguished design team and the Museum's own experts — represents the pinnacle of specialty finishing work.
